The Great Lake Area Boilermakers Apprenticeship Program (GLABAP) offers a fantastic opportunity for those looking to enter the skilled trades, especially if traditional college isn’t the right path for you. GLABAP focuses on producing the most highly skilled and best-trained apprentices in the construction industry.
This program is based on field construction, offering work across a variety of industries such as power production, gas and oil refining, paper production, food and beverage, chemical processing, and even shipbuilding. As a Boilermaker, you’ll be working in challenging environments—tight confined spaces, heights over 100 feet, extreme hot or cold conditions, and long hours. If you’re up for these challenges and enjoy hands-on, technical work, this might be the perfect career path for you.
